42nd year of the creation of ITF: The Year of the Family for the ITF
(March 22th, 2007)
The ITF Board of Directors recently approved the theme for the 42nd year of the creation of ITF (period from March 22nd 2007 to March 21st 2008): The Year of the Family. Throughout the 42nd year of the creation of ITF, we will be encouraging all Taekwon-Do practitioners to get their families involved. You are passionate about Taekwon-Do and recognize the benefits of living the Taekwon-Do way of life. Why not help those closest to you, the members of your family, to do the same? Taekwon-Do is the ideal family activity, combining physical training and the application of the Do, the Taekwon-Do philosophy that emphasizes basic human values. Every member of your family will see an improvement in his or her level of physical fitness. Training together, providing mutual encouragement, and helping each other to progress will bring your family closer together. Living the Taekwon-Do way of life will ensure a happier family life. One of the activities we have planned during The Year of the Family is a contest for ITF families. There will be prizes for the school or group with the most families training together and for the country with the most families participating. The family with the largest number of members practicing Taekwon-Do will be honored, and one family will be named ITF Family of the Year. Complete details of the contest will be announced soon. For now, here are the basic requirements:
