1st Leadership Camp in Honduras: An excellent springboard for the development of the ITF
(Québec, July, 21th 2006)
What was your personal objective at the beginning of the camp?
- To acquire knowledge regarding leadership from the best masters in the world.
- To become a better instructor and develop into a true leader for my students and the Taekwon-Do in Honduras.
- To promote ITF Taekwon-Do in El Salvador, in the schools, colleges and municipalities.
- To learn new techniques and get to know other instructors with different experiences.
- To become better in the learning and teaching of Taekwon-Do and to participate a new experience.
- To change me into a competent instructor with updated techniques and success.
- To learn more, become more professional, be a better Taekwon-do instructor and to discover the best manner possible to achieve my goals.
- To learn new administrative skills and techniques.
- To learn to be an good instructor, to learn to run a school properly, to learn how to perform with good technical level.
- To have a chance to learn more about leading. I think that is not easy to be a leader and I want to have more tools to help me to become a good leader for my people.
- To start with new national organization, I am looking for the tools needed to create a new organization.
- To learn about leadership and how to direct an organization, to make it grow!
- To enable me to learn something new to take and put into practice in my country.
What is your appreciation about the Technical Part (Taekwon-Do Training)?
- To be a better instructor you must train hard, and to always be active is the best way to obtain this.
- Excellent, I most profoundly liked the session of "Front to Front" (One Step Sparring) taught by Master Trajtenberg, and the last part, on movement, by Mr. Jedut from Poland.
- Excellent but the timeframe did not allow us to cover all of the development.
- Good, however, I hope that the next time we will work on the techniques of the degrees, nevertheless, we experienced new aspects of Taekwon-do technique.
- Excellent, unfortunately the time is very short.
- It would help to have more activities like this to help to understand more.
- Excellent presentations but not enough time to gain enough knowledge. I have good knowledge of patterns but not 3,2,1 step and pre-arranged sparring. Also need more knowledge on application of movements in patterns.
- Very good, very creative instructions that gave confidence. The teaching team are good leaders with practical experiences! We absorbed well planned work (activities)!
- Excellent, learned new motivational skills!
- It is very good and well prepared!
- I learned a lot in what is the job of a teacher, Instructors and how we can teach our students and help them. Thank you very much.
- I can say that I now have sufficient information of how to work for 1 or 2 years with the new material we received.
- Very good – Excellent. Everything was very interesting and professional. I learned much about everything and changes to implement in teaching.
- Use of the dobok is a discipline and the key is to be more!
What is your appreciation of the Business and Leadership part?
- My opinion is that there was much benefit and I consider that I have learned a lot for my school, and my national organization. Very good, excellent!
- It appeared to be suitable and in accordance with the reality of our countries, even though we lack in the practice of these things.
- I think that in some areas of the business needed more, however, in Leadership skills it was complete!
- We (countries delegates) must continue working on this part as we need more work in these areas.
- My life, starting from now, as an instructor and a businessman, is sure to be successful because the tools that we were given will help to create success if we put them into practice!
- Did not need information on bookkeeping and accounting. Good information of developing a national association and competitions. (i.e. Poland’s presentation).
- Very good, I took maximum advantage and am excited to become a good leader and build the best possible business with my team and learn more about accounting.
- Gave new ideas for structure or business plans.
- Very interesting for the future.
- I believe my expectations were covered and I want to encourage the ITF to continue with more of this type of seminars around the world.
- I like the way were explained all the opportunities and how to manage the future of our school. Now it’s our job to learn more and go deeply into the subject.
- It helped me to see that there is more there.
- Very Good. We were taught to see that Taekwon-Do is not only a hobby; it is a way of life and can help create a new organization. Excellent- this is our objective and that of the ITF!
Comments on the program, the schedule, etc.
- Excellent!
- Very professional!
- Quite heavy, however it is normal to be this way!
- Congratulations, the masters were an excellent team, well organized!
- Never have I learned so much in so few days! We need more time. Thanks to God, General Choi and the ITF Direction team for helping us!
- The way I want to congratulate ITF Leaders for this great effort! I feel sorry for the people who didn’t attend to this Camp. I believe this was the best thing happen to me. Thank you and keep working!
