(October 8th, 2008)
Master Paul McPhail
Dear members and visitors: As you know, the President’s office has been responsible for ITF communications since Mr. Jean-Marc Demers stepped down as Chair of the ITF Communications Committee and Editor-in-chief of the ITF Website. We have been able to count on the collaboration of our Webmaster Mr. Witold, the members of the ITF Technique & Instruction Committee, and the members of the ITF Communications Committee. However, experience has shown us that it is essential to have an Editor-in-chief for the ITF Website. The role of the Editor-in-chief is to ensure that we maintain the same high standard of quality and to make sure the Website is up-to-date and relevant. This is important because the Website is the ITF’s most important means of communications with our members as well as with the general public. Master Paul McPhail has extensive expertise in the communications field, Websites in particular. He is known to many of our ITF national leaders for his knowledge of the technical aspects of ITF TKD and for his humble attitude. Recently Master McPhail and I have been sharing our ideas about the operation of the ITF Website and what improvements could be made. Now, I am very pleased to inform you that Master McPhail has accepted my invitation to serve our organization as Editor-in-chief of the ITF website, effective immediately. I am sure you will join me in wishing Master McPhail success as he takes on this new responsibility. Our goal is to make the ITF Website the best Taekwon-Do source, providing information that is interesting, reliable, and practical to our members and to everyone who is interested in Taekwon-Do. With full cooperation from all our national leaders, we will be able to achieve this goal.
