On September 23, 2012, Queens Taekwon-do Center hosted the XVII ITF New York Taekwon-do ITF Tournament at Queens College in Flushing, New York. In attendance approximately 300 competitors from over 30 schools, visiting from a number of States across the U.S., as well as Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Sweden, Tajikistan, and Canada.
The opening ceremony commenced with a salute to our national anthem, followed by the introduction of the individual schools and their instructors/masters and presentation of the board of directors of the NTA-ITF after which everyone took their positions to proceed with the activities of the day.
The performance of the competitors was outstanding, as was the enthusiasm of all participants, especially the children who were eager to compete for their medals and 1st place trophies. Particular recognition should be given to all referees, judges, and assistants, whose work has continued to excel over the years, helping to make for a better tournament each year.
The tournament began at 10 A.M., ending at 7:30, and for the 17th year, it was another victory for the ITF New York Taekwon-Do ITF Tournament. Master Ruben Suarez 8th degree would like to extend his gratitude to all participants and supporters who helped to carry out this continued success.
